At the Board of Mesa County Commissioners' July 15 public hearing, they ratified a letter of support to the Colorado Basin Roundtable for the Clifton Water District's grant application to fund a water storage feasibility study.

The 2025 Mesa County Community Summit is now accepting speaker proposals. Please consider joining us this October 6 and 7 at Colorado Mesa University as we bring together child welfare professionals, caregivers, educators and advocates from across the region around this year’s theme: Inspire.

Mesa County is proud to honor the individuals who have successfully completed the 2025 Inside Mesa County class, where they gained invaluable insights into the inner workings and responsibilities of our local government. This comprehensive 8-week course has equipped participants with a deeper understanding of Mesa County's governance and provided them with an opportunity to engage with county departments and elected officials. It is an excellent opportunity for any Mesa County resident who is interested in learning about and getting involved in local affairs.

Mesa County officials have declared a local disaster emergency to accelerate response efforts and secure additional resources as the Turner Gulch and Wright Draw Fires continue to burn near the town of Gateway.
